Installation instructions are here https://support.buw-soft.de/smartcolor/7.0/latest/help/en/admin/default.htm?startat=/smartcolor/7.0/latest/help/en/admin/sc_installation.html

Installation

  1. Unzip the downloaded software package and save it to any file location
  2. Run the contained executable file (smartcolor_*.exe)
  3. Follow the instructions and install the software to the intended installation path
  4. Configure license
    • If using a demo license code choose “Use a demo license” and select the license file (license.dat) in the following step
    • If using a license extension (server-based) choose “Use a license server”
  5. Manage software configuration
    • By default, the software will use the configuration folder contained within the installation directory.
    • It is recommended to create your own user configuration outside this directory. New software versions will then automatically use your adjusted configuration and there is no risk to lose own settings through overwriting.
    • Copy the whole folder “configuration” to any directory for which the Creo process will have writing permissions. The name of the folder can be changed.
    • Use the environment variable SC_USER_CONFIG_PATH to point to this directory. For instance “C:\temp\my_sc_configuration”.
  6. Define the language that is used for internal texts and definitions
    • By default the content of SMARTColor is displayed in the language of the Creo session
    • If you want SMARTColor to use another language that is provided within the software you can use the environment variable SC_UI_LANG_FOR_CONTENTS to specify this language. Use the identifier from the language properties dialog as value.
    • If the environment variable is not set and the language of the Creo session is not supported within SMARTColor the default language from SMARTColor is used. This default is set within the language properties dialog.
  7. SMARTColor will be automatically registered and started in Creo
    • In order to deactivate the automatic start, remove the following file, which will be created due to installation: C:\ProgramData\PTC\Creo4\Plugins\SMARTColor*\protk.dat
    • Use the entries within the file “protk.dat” which is contained within the “bin” folder to register the application in your preferred way.
  8. Start Creo Parametric and find the additional SMARTColor ribbon tab
    • To start the software as an administrator you have to set the environment variable SC_ADMIN_MODE_ENABLED to the value TRUE
    • You will detect two additional icons within the SMARTColor ribbon tab: Configuration and Content Manager

Smartcolor is a 3rd party add on software. I suggest you contact BUW for help on installation https://www.buw-soft.de/en/support/help-center/
