Legacy Representations

I'm building a workflow based on the Symbolic Representation, which was recently hidden in Creo 4 by the hide_pre_creo4_reps config option. Does anyone know what is PTC's intent by this? As in, will these reps still be available in Creo 5 and beyond?

Symbolic Rep has proven to be a useful tool for fasteners, at least thus far in my project, and I haven't found a good replacement for it in Creo 4.
