Middle mouse button canceling note location selection

I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.6.0

I am trying to add notes in 3d space under the annotations tab. I have done this before (I do this almost everyday) but for some reason, now, when I use the middle mouse button to set the location of the note, it cancels the operation altogether. This function is still available in 2d space and works just fine.
