I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM120

Hello, as a customer with an active support contract, we are looking to download some older software that is no longer available on the web.

On the download page, it clearly states "For unavailable older (expired) date-codes, open a Support Case".

I am opening up a case to get the following software:
- Creo 4.0 date-code M120
- Creo 6.0.4.0

Thank you.

Correct. PTC "guarantees" that any build code of Creo 4.0 Mxxx will be open-able in any other Creo 4.0 Mxxx.

Unfortunately you're going to have to do this again, as the PTC Community cannot help you.  You need an actual support case with PTC Technical Support.  When you are entering information in the case logger and it suggests you crate a post on the PTC Community, DON'T DO IT!.  You need to pick the small text below that says 'engage with PTC' or something like that.

Since all files created within any release version of Creo are compatible, why do you need anything but the latest release of Creo 4 and Creo 6?

As Tom pointed out, we are a community of users who help other users, with some PTC comments at times. We cannot do things like license requests, software version downloads or troubleshoot a traceback log. For those, you need to open a case with PTC Tech Support.

Our customers are using those specific versions.

We can use updated versions, but then would always have to remember to save as the older versions to be compatible with our customers.

Here is the official position of PTC:

    • It is common practice at PTC to only offer the latest datecode of releases that are out of maintenance for more than 1 year for download
    • Customers do not have an entitlement for requesting a special datecode for products that are out of maintenance
    • To access older datecodes, contact a sales representative

As @BenLoosli mentions above you can download any datecode of Creo 4 and Creo 6 to resolve your issue. All datecodes within a version are compatible for read/write of files. So if you have Creo 4 and Creo 6 installed you can support your customers you do not need to have a specific datecode.
