None Certified Graphics Card Use
Hi Guys!!
I hope this message finds you all safe and well especially during these hard times.
First off this forum has been INVALUABE over the years. Even though this is my first post, reading through the forum has helped from countless nights of pulling my hair out. Just a big thank you really for putting in the time to answer the questions put forward by users.
I have been using PTC software since University, first WF4 then CREO 2 & 7…. I think the phrase might be “Hook ‘em while they’re young”
I have just started freelancing and looking to upgrade my current system at home. My current lifestyle dictates that I need to have a portable workstation. Which doesn’t help as my budget is low especially for this category. Would love to be in one place and have a desktop workstation…..one day.
I have been combing the forums, checking reviews and PTC’s advised hardware etc.
I have whittled my search to two systems, one verified by PTC and one not….you guessed it a gaming laptop is in the mix. Both systems by Lenovo.
Option 1) CERTIFIED
Lenovo ThinkPad P15v Gen 1
CORE i7-10850H 2.7ghz
16GB RAM (would upgrade to 32GB)
512GB SSD
Quadro P620 4GB
Option 2) NOT – CERTIFIED
Lenovo Legion 5i
Core i7-10750H 2.6 ghz
16GB 512GB SSD (would upgrade to 32GB)
512GB SSD
GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB
CURRENT SYSTEM (Please don’t laugh)
- Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)
- 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
- Intel HD Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6750M with automatic graphics switching
- 16GB RAM
- 500GB SSD
- Using bootcamp to boot into WINDOWS 10 Home
Plan to be running both Creo 2 and 7.
Has anyone been using the Lenovo Legion 5i GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB with CREO 2 & 7? I know its not a certified machine and I RUN the risk of the software not working due to this.
Thank you in advance! 🙂
