Pro Engineer Student edition wildfire 5.0 not running

I have been trying to get pro engineer student wildfre 5.0 to run on an hp pavilion laptop running windows 8

I have been trying in other laptops too and It isn't working. (sometimes it is shown as running in task manager but doesn't appear on screen. Sometimes it flickers splashes the screen a bit and announces incompatability with display.

Can anyone explain what I need to do?

The licence is run through school subscription. They suggested that ptc community might be able to help.

I'd be grateful for assistance.
