PTC software on ARM architecture

Hi, since a few moths ago it is speaking more about the ARM architecture, is it posible to install PTC software on this computer architecture?

    What specific PTC's software do you want to use?

      thanks for your answer, Creo and mathcad, I have requested a budget for commercial licenses, but I do not discard use other PTC software in the future like windchill.

      It is recently come to our attention that PTC Winchill is not compatible with ARM64-based computers. We have gone through a few hassles in installation and ended up with this finding.

       

      Our company, Qualcomm, released Snapdragon X Elite CPU with great performance last year. As result of its success, Qualcomm IT is strategically replacing all employee PCs by laptops powered by X Elite CPU. This means that the whole team would be using ARM64-based laptops latest by the end of this year. The incompatibility of WRR, which we uses on daily basis, is becoming troublesome.

       

      On the other hand, last year we just placed a PO to Crimson Quality for 3-years WRR floating license services, without foreseeing this issue. It would be great that you could fix this problem in near future, otherwise we would have to look for alternative option in market and consider the possibility of cancelling the PO.

        Windchill as a client should run as it is just a browser interface.

        Windchill as a server will probably have serious issues. Oracle may have issues, too.

          Still waiting on a Mac native version for Creo Parametric.  I bet it would be amazing (if done right)...

           

          Parallels works on Mac intel processors just fine, have not had time to play with M-Series to see if Parallels works there (I have heard it works find for other windows apps - but higher end CAD may have some limitations - or not even work -- Solidworks does with some registry tweaks, Creo is reported to have graphics and freezing problems as I recall)

            Don't hold your breath for Creo Parametric on Mac native.

            Apple uses NX and Siemens dropped support for Mac native at NX6.

              Back in the day... Pro/ENGINEER was only Unix. 🙂  (I am totally dating myself with that statement)

               

              Ported to Windows... effectively killed Unix distros.

              Mac moved to Unix (oh... the temptation of a comeback)

              Now we run Creo in Windows on a Mac in a VM. (intel)

               

              One can dream of the old models becoming the new again.  But I am a realist, the Mac ecosystem and moats and interoperability problems with other applications is still a HUGE problem (business decision and limitations galore).  Cloud approaches (like OnShape) break those barriers - but the tradeoffs are huge.
