Random Licensing problems

This has happened a few times and is very annoying. Our licensing server is hosted remotely so it is not in my physical work location. Every once in a while I will exit ProE and for some reason the license will not release from the server. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour for the license to get release. Does anyone know of a fix for this or what exactly causes it?
