Text with box around it

In Creo 3.0 I can no longer create text with a box around it. If I type in @[-A-@]  to create a datum A symbol it comes out ezactly like i type it, and does not create a box. Is there a config setting or something? I used to do this in older versions with no problem. Any help is appreciated.

2 ways you can do this now.

1. the box icon

2. hit the little arrow next to TEXT  in the ribbon and select TEXT EDITOR (opens notepad) then you can type it like you used to.
