What file format from a Romer Coordinate Measuring Arm can be imported into Pro-E Wildfire 4 that will allow appending or editing of the part file

What file format from a ROMER Coordinate Measuring Machine can be imported into Wildfire4 that will allow you to append to if needed and allow youto create a sheet metal flat. I am basically wanting to reverse engineer a part by using the ROMER Coordinate Measuring Machine to measure the existing part. Then import that data into Pro-e Wildfire4.

If all you want if a part file, import it as a STEP if possible. If you want a REAL part, I'd say re-model it, you'll have better luck modifying it downstream.

Hi Ed,

If you need to create a sheet metal flat from imported geometry (*.step, *.igs, etc.) you can use this trick:

Open part as surface model. Then select surfaces and create copy of this geometry (sustem create one QUILT).

In sheetmetal mode use Offset feature (offset value = 0) and set custom thickness. Hide original and copy gometry.
