Writing/Saving to folders

I had an issue arise yesterday. I am able to read/write/save to various folders throughout the network and desktop except the one that is our primary directory and subfolder (for years). Whenever I save happens to these folders, the software has a hard crash (after "spinning" for several minutes). Any thoughts as to what may be causing this?

An index file (.idx) file was restore from a few day earlier and we are now able to save without crashing. If anyone has any thoughts as to while this was happening I would love to be enlightened.

Try different settings of these two config options:

save_implicitly_verified_insts no

save_instance_accelerator always
