Can i hide an inactive picklist value from the fields, queries, reports etc.

Hi,

I need to hide the inactive pick values from the field..Can this be achieved?

These values pop up while creating queries, reports etc with [Inactive] appended to the name..I need to hide such values so that the end users do no see them at all.

      you can use a filter to list only the active values
