Can we import the .xml file into Windchill Modeler?

Hello,

I would like to know whether it is possible to import an XML file containing UML/SysML data into Windchill Modeler.

If XML import is supported, could you please provide the steps or the recommended approach for importing such files?

I have already tried importing a sample XML file, but it was not accepted by the tool. In the Import options, I can only see support for .zip and .inf file formats, and there does not appear to be an option for importing XML files directly.

Could you please clarify whether XML-based UML/SysML models can be imported and, if so, what format or conversion is required?

Thanks, Balamurali

Hello BV_13918231,

Yes it is possible to import UML/SysML XMI files into Windchill Modeler. Please look at the Tools ribbon or right click on a package and select Tools->XMI in Windchill Modeler and see if you have the XMI Exporter/Importer available. If not, then it is likely taht you do not have a Java runtime installed and the XMI Exporter/Importer is then not installed.

To solve this, please install Amazon Corretto runtime (please check the support site for the supported version of Amazon Corretto for your version of Windchill Modeler). Once the runtime is installed, you will be able to modify your Windchill Modeler installation via Windows Add/Remove programs and update the installation to include the XMI Importer/Exporter.
