AXIS AUTOMATIC DISPLAY

AXIS AUTOMATIC DISPLAY

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know with which config voice it is possible to set up the automatic creation of reference axes for circular geometries.

EXAMPLE: a circular extrusion generates an axis automatically.

Is it possible to create them automatically even for buttonholes?

ty Matteo.

Matteo,

I assume by buttonhole you mean some kind of slot or extruded shape that is not circular. Two options:

  • Set the configuration option show_axes_for_extr_arcs to yes. This will automatically generate axes in arcs in sketches and Revolves that are revolved less than 360 degrees (IIRC).
  • Create a User Defined Feature that includes the cut geometry and an arc feature. I have a video on User Defined Features here:

If you mean something else by buttonhole, please include a picture.

You can add an axis for any extruded feature by adding a geometry point to the sketch.  Creo will create an axis at that point.
