Navisworks file (.NWD) and fit check with assembly

I was given a Navisworks file (.nwd) that I need to see if my product fits as expected in the system.

Any thoughts on how I can do that? I have access to several CAD programs. I just haven't found a way to get the files together.

From what I read online at Autodesk, the NWD file is basically a viewer file (snapshot) so I feel I may be out of luck and I'll have to get with my customer and see if they can give me some other format.

Just curious if anyone has any experience.

    Turns out we had licenses for Navisworks within the company already and I was able to get what I needed.
