No-closed belt in Mechanism

I wonder if Mechanism can simulate a no-closed belt like the one you can see in the video.

The belt has the extremities fixed on a ground piece.

A rack and pinion mechanism connection (Gears) should replicate the timing belt kinematics unless I am missing something in watching the video.
