We have identified number of critical issues with Oracle JDk11. These issues needs to be addressed by Oracle JAVA. Until these issues are addressed by Oracle JAVA, we will not be able to support JDK11 with Integrity Lifecyle Manager.
· ILM Server or Client Crash issues when using Oracle JDK11
· Tooltip truncation issues in certain ILM Swing client components when using Oracle JDK11
· FIPS is not working with Oracle JDK11
While there is delay to provide support for JDK11, we are making following changes to Integrity Lifecycle Manager:
The Integrity Lifecyle Manager Client and Agent as of 12.2 release will no longer be supported on 32-bit and will be built only as a 64 application. This means that the Integrity Lifecyle Manager client and agent on all the supported platforms by default will run as 64-bit client application.
Prior versions 11.0 to 12.1 of Integrity Lifecyle Manager 32-bit Client will still be able to connect with Integrity Lifecycle Manager 12.2 server.
Hi,
Are you planning to support alternatives of Oracle Java?
We see that other software vendors are supporting AdoptOpenJDK and/or Amazon Corretto.
Hello,
Windchill RV&S 12.3.1.0 is being planned for support with Corretto 8.
Similarly when we circle back to bringing in support for JDK 11, we will in a following release - add support for Corretto 11.
Thanks
Kartik
Fingers crossed for RV&S 12.3.1 with Corretto 8 working out.
We are planning to upgrade this year and having to deal with Oracle licensing would be, hmm, most unwelcome.
By the way, can the client also use Corretto 8 then?
Thanks,
MGri
Hello @mgri
The Windchill RV&S client would also be supported using Corretto 8. As conveyed by @KartikOak above, Windchill RV&S 12.3.1.0 is being planned for support with Corretto 8 and will be released by end of June 2020.
Kind Regards
Gaurav
