Question

3D statics - Symbolic vector/tensor solving

Hello.

I'm fairly new to Mathcad, but i hope someone can assist me with this:

I'm trying to solve some 3D statics, or make a template for it. At first i'm building 6 equations with 6 unknowns, I then want to solve this for each variable and afterwards put in the values. I've done it this way around in Maple, but i like Mathcad, and the price 😉

I have attached my crude attempt just to give a better understanding of what i am trying to do.

Hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction.

The approach is generally OK. Especially the fact that you're intending to solve symbolically first.

Here's the same set in Mathcad 11:

Success!

You try to solve a linear system in six variables but the equations are not independent.

At least the  last three equations (its a system for  F1x,F1y and F1z) are not:

You are right, i jumped the gun on the variables, so I'm missing some stuff. I will give it another go and return.
