We should have subscript / superscript text formatting buttons for Community posts that add <sub></sub> / <sup></sup> tags, respectively, to a selected piece of text. This would work similarly to existing shortcut buttons like Bold and Italics. It would probably be part of the extended toolbar.
This would be particularly useful on the Mathcad board.

Apparently, the button doesn't exist when editing a post. Could that be rectified?
