Question

Simplified representation -> Substitude selected models by family table

Hi Guys,

In Creo Parametric 7.0 I’m trying to replace an assembly in a simplified rep by use of a family table instance.
I’m having an assembly with a pneumatic parallel gripper (some kind of cylinder) in, which is “driving” some other parts:

This gripper has a family table with some instances (different positions of the jaws):

Now I like to replace this gripper in a Simplyfied Representation in the higher assembly.
I like to do that with the “Substitude selected models by family table”:

This works fine for the gripper. But the parts (jaws and bolts) which are driven by the gripper aren’t following the jaws of the gripper:

Does anybody know how to solve this?

Is the part being swapped out part of a family table?

If so, make sure that the constraints to which it is attached is present in all parts in the family.

If not, when that constraint is not present there is nothing to which it can be attached.

@Dale_Rosema thanks for your quick reply.
No the part which is driving the other parts isn't swapped in the family table, it is only moved by a dimension.
When I replace the part just by family table (not in the simplyfied rep) it works like it should work!

Strange thing is that when I do it in the simp rep, the part will be replaced but it is not driving the other parts anymore....
