Creo 5.0 Premium Edition Standalone Educator CFD licence

Hi, I just installed the Creo 5.0 Premium Edition Standalone Educator edition of Creo in order to help mentor my FRC robotics team. I was excited to try out the new simulate capabilities. When I installed, I went into the "application feature" section of the installer, and saw that "Creo Flow Analysis" and "Creo Topology Optimization" were unchecked. I checked their boxes and continued installing.

Now, Creo simulate appears to work well, and topology optimization opens as well! Unfortunately, when I click "Flow Analysis", it tells me that "The selected functionality requires CFD Analysis License".

When I go to file->options->licensing, and click Refresh license list, I see an optional floating license called CFD_ADVANCED_PLUS_SET. If I select this floating module, it says that it's been activated, but still won't let me open flow analysis. It says:

Option CFD_BASIC not ordered, please contact your sales representative.
Option CFD_ADVANCE not ordered, please contact your sales representative.
Option CFD_ADVANCE_PLUS not ordered, please contact your sales representative.

What should I do? Is flow analysis actually included with the premium educator license?

Thanks so much,

~Max

Hello,

CFD is not working yet in any product code based license.

We are working on this, but sadly I can't tell you when it will be available.

Thanks,

Alex

Hey, Is there any update about whether this is possible now?

Thanks for your time!

Hi, i got the same issue whereby a CFD license is need for flow analysis. how do I resolve this issue?

Regards

Was this ever solved? I’m having the same problem

Hi,

open parametric.psf file in Notepad (path example ... E:\PTC\Creo5_040\Creo 5.0.4.0\Parametric\bin).

Check line starting with ... ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=

Add 10131 into parentheses.

The line should look like ... ENV=CREOPMA_FEATURE_NAME=PROE_some-name (10131)

Note:

  • 10131 is code number of CFD_ADVANCED_PLUS_SET

I did that and when I restarted creo I got the error: "Features Not Obtained: CFD_ADVANCED_PLUS_SET"

Hi, does anyone know why im getting this error?

Hi @MartinHanak

Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried this on my linux installation through wine and it didn't work. Still complains that

Option CFD_ADVANCE_PLUS not ordered, please contact your sales representative.
You have not checked out the license option. Please click "File->Options->Licensing" and choose required option from "Refresh license list".

When I go into File->Options->Licensing I have the same problem as before. I can see the CFD_ADVANCED_PLUS_SET license, but checking it doesn't do anything. The error messages in the console seem to imply that creo is looking for CFD_BASIC, CFD_ADVANCE, and CFD_ADVANCE_PLUS, but not CFD_ADVANCED_PLUS_SET.

I'll try on my windows installation later if that'd be helpful. Though DS_9781704 seems to be having a similar problem. I don't see that Features Not Obtained error though.

Note that I tried this on a creo 7.0.2.0 Installation.

If I need to go back to 5.0, then I can also try that later. I think my license for that version might be expired though.

Hi,

if I could view your license file, I could tell you what's in it ...

Is that something that I should just post online?

it does contain the lines:

######### Super-Module Bundle 10131 Definition ##########

# Creo Parametric Node Locked Option

#Feature Line Type = INCREMENT

#Feature Name = PROBUNDLE_10131

#Feature Version = 38.0

#Version = Creo 7.0

#Number of Copies = uncounted locked modules

#Supercede = Y

#Issue Date = 08-SEP-2020

#Expiration Date = 09-SEP-2022

#Node Locked Option = Creo Flow Analysis

#Node Locked Option = Creo Flow Analysis Plus

#Node Locked Option = Creo Flow Analysis Premium

Let me know if there's anything else I should look for or if it's safe to post somewhere/if I should redact anything when posted.

Thanks!

Hi,

I think you know that you posted comments, only. It would be better if I can see the whole license file. You can send it to m h a n a k @ c o g r a s . c z (remove spaces).

Also please upload/send your parametric.psf file.
