Mathcad Prime 5.0 installation problem during Application Selection

Dear community,

 

I have a weird problem during installation of Mathcad Prime 5.0 Express. On three machines with Win10 the installation gets stucked at the "Application Selection". It does not show the list to select an application and I can not process with the installation. It's just an white empty screen. I had Mathcad Prime 4.0 installed before and uninstalled it.

 

What can I do to install Mathcad Prime 5.0?

First off. You should not need to uninstall Prime 4. Prime 4 and Prime 5 should happily run side by side on the same computer. You might even be able to copy expressions from Prime 5 to Prime 4.

I know. On one machine I have uninstalled Mathcad 4.0 and on the other I tried to use a parallel installation. But in both cases I can not install Mathcad. Furthermore, it seems that their does not exist any fix to this issue?

I'm afraid you're right about that.

Who knows....it might help if you bring this to attention of PTC support (see the other topic for a link to them.)

Not surprising. Probably that means that PTC does not want you to use or buy their software.

Ok, I think PTC has some major issues with Mathcad at the moment. I requested another download for mathcad with a new email and name and haven’t got any responses or information so far. They don’t even send download links to potential customers.

 

For me it seems that they have some issues. Could somebody with a working system try to get a new download of Mathcad Prime 5.0 Express? Maybe with a new email/account? Furthermore, I’m from Germany. Do other regions have the same problem?

You need to change your windows system language to English. The installation doesn't work in German.
After you changed your system language you can install Mathcad without problems and then you can change the language back if you want.
