academic simulator cannot connect ThingWorx

@Johnna_Jay It could be something specific to the Trial Studio instance provision and configuration.

Request you to please provide configuration details you are giving on Simulator to connect ThingWorx. Also, make sure the application key, port is valid and not blocked.

In my opinion, the protocol should be included in the URL (https).

You are specifying the port at the end of the URL (9aar5zbs.studio-trial.thingworx.io:8443), but then for port specifying 443.  The 443 is likely being appended to the URL to give 9aar5zbs.studio-trial.thingworx.io:8443:443.  Remove the :8443.

You also need to make sure you specify the right port, whether it is 8443 or 443.
