Alignment of mashup container in layout

I'm trying to align mashup containers into a kind of tiled display, and I'm trying to do so through a set of mashup containers placed in the rows of a layout. You can see my setup in the first picture.

In the second picture I'm making a case for what I want, basically you can see in the end result that the mashup is aligned in the top left of the actual row / column bounding box. I've tried vertical align on a few different components but it doesn't seem to fix the issue.

Any help would be appreciated.
