Can thumbnail image be exported to excel file

Hi, 
I am working on a mashup that displays a list of parts. For each part its thumbnail is visible along with name and part number. This mashup requires a button that downloads an excel file containing the parts details: thumbnail image, name and part number.

I am able to retrieve the thumbnail in the mashup as described in 
Article - CS306799 How to display Visualization data from Windchill in Thingworx mashup via Thingview widget.
My question is can the thumbnail image used in the mashup be included in an exported excel file? If so, how?
