How to get a contract renewal before generating a new license file for thingworx?

Hi all,

This case: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS281883 speaks of:

• Validating that a contract renewal has been completed prior to generating a new license file.

So I was wondering, how does one get a contract renewal before generating a new license file for Thingworx? And where do I check to see if the contract has been renewed?
