I researched the original post and subsequently found the case that was opened for this. It was submitted as an enhancement to R&D, but unfortunately was not accepted. I'm not able to tell you exactly why it was not accepted, but there can be many reasons a request is denied: effort required, customer demand, resources available, etc.
