Is it possible to have a mashup or widget within a custom widget?

Is it possible to embed another widget, or ideally a mashup, within a custom widget? How would I do this?

Ideally I'd like the selection of Mashup to be dynamic at runtime.

For sure you should, take a look at actual Standard Mashup Container widget, and start from there.
