Apologies for the delay on this.  It was overlooked since the reply was posted to an older topic.

We probably need to look at your connection stream to validate that it is structured properly.  Assuming that is correct, you will need to validate the login credentials, host name, etc.  We would also need to validate that firewall rule is not blocking the connection, assuming it is running on a separate server.

verify if XXsqlXX-jdbc.jar specific to MySQL DB is placed in tomcat directory lib folder.

once that is placed conditions are ideal for connection
