Customer wants to create an external application in Java and use this application to create things and access thingworx data model,

Please, any Java SDK sample program we can leverage as example for that?

Out-of-the-box you can use ThingWorx EDGE SDK for Java or just call platform REST services. Both are well-documented in ThingWorx Help, including all links to Support portal.
