Thingworx - Azure Database for PostgreSQL-Hyperscale (Citus)

Hi Gurus,

I would like to know if anyone have come across any deployment scenario where Thingworx is using Azure for PostgreSQL Hyerscale (Citus) as persistence provider (for both Model metadata and Time series data).  The Hyperscale version of Azure Database for PostgreSQL allows user to scale out the database horizontally and accommodate large amount of data (billions of rows of data).

For your information, the data throughput is estimated at 1.6TB/month (from IOT sensors to Thingworx). Hence, the thought of using a scaled up database arises so that we are able to accommodate such huge data throughput.

Is this something feasible? Appreciate if someone can share more on this.

Thanks!

I don't know about the feasibility of your approach.
However, have you considered InfluxDB Enterprise for your sensor data. It is horizontally scalable and can be deployed on any infrastructure. For elastic scalability, there is InfluxDB Cloud(AWS) as well.
