Unable Delete Thing (AzureIoT)

Hi,

 

I have imported several Azure IoT Devices into the platform. The problem is that I can not delete them if the "ThingWorx Azure IoT Hub Connector" is not running.

If I start the "ThingWorx Azure IoT Hub Connector" it deletes the things but it also deletes the devices from the Azure IoT Hub, which is not the wanted behavior.

Hi Stanislav,

 

Yes, You cannot delete them and it is not recommended to delete them directly in thingworx as it there could be issues when you connect the IoT hub device again.

 

the device.json script normally acts bridge between both the instances and thingworx just acts as a view to view this device information coming from azure.

 

Can you explain further why you want to delete the entities in the thingworx?

Thanks for your answer.

 

The reason why I want to delete the entities is not really important. What maters is that a TW Developer cannot manage the entities created by him. If the Connection Server is not available you are stuck for ever with the TW entities. Doesn't make sense.
