Vuforia Chalk for RealWear

Vuforia Chalk for RealWear is now available and supported on the HMT-1 and HMT-1Z1 headsets! Chalk for RealWear gives technicians access to remote expertise while keeping their hands free to complete tasks safely and efficiently. 

 

Along with giving users a hands-free experience, Chalk for RealWear also offers still-frame annotations for desktop users. Still-frame annotations allow the desktop user to take a still image of the RealWear user's environment, annotate it, and send it back to the RealWear user.

Chalk for RealWear users are then able to view these still-frame images at any time during the Chalk Session.

Chalk for RealWear is available as part of the "Chalk Hosts" package. Entitled customers can download the APK from the PTC support site. If you do not have a Chalk Host package, please reach out to your local sales rep to learn more about upgrading.

 

Please note that there are a few limitations for this new feature:

  • Currently, RealWear users can only join sessions using a Connect Code provided by a remote expert.
    • RealWear users initiating sessions is a feature on our future roadmap.
  • Only Chalk for Desktop users can author still-frame annotations. 
    • We are actively working to enable still-frame annotations for mobile users.

      Hi 

      As PTC partner we still have not access to Vuforia Chalk Software Download page (this page is empty for us). Could you help us? We can test RealWear with Chalk. 

      (We have access to Chalk Host users)

      The same here. But: In Foresight the app is available the store. With Foresight you can also automatically deliver app updates to the hmt-1.

        Hi! Will there be any plans to enable annotations with spatial recognition for RealWear devices?

        We currently do not have plans to implement spatial recognition for RealWear.
