Hello Mr. Bourelly,

I have tried to import a SolidWork part file (.SLDPRT) in ThingWorx Studio 8.1.3.

I didn't have any issue, it has worked like a charm.

The file size of my example is 17 Mb.

I can open this file in SolidWork 2017 but it has been created in a previous release.

I don't remember which to be honest.

Do you have any issue to import SolidWork file ?

Best regards,

Samuel

Yes, no issue.

put the assembly as a .zip inside studio.

Hello guys,

Thanks for your reply, I did some new tests today and I got always the same error msg which is:

"sw2pvdirect Error:1: Failed to load Solidworks model [-1019]"

I'm using thx Studio version 8.1.3 (8.1.3.2556), my SLD part is from SOLIDWORKS 2017 version.

This version seems to be not supported, I found this information in the  sw2pvdirect.pvr file, where in line 4 it's written "adapter/version=Supports Solidworks 2015 and prior"..

I just make a test with a part in version 2015, it's working...

I'm not lucky, my customer has a 2017 version...

thanks again

You  could still take an interchange format like step or iges.

Hello,

Another solution is to use Creo View Adapters 4.1 F000.

It supports SolidWork 2017 as described at the page 5 of  software matrix :

https://support.ptc.com/WCMS/files/172766/en/CVAdapters4.1_-8Sept.2.pdf

  •   Do you have access to it in PTC Download page with your account ?

By the way, in ThingWorx Studio 8.1.3, Creo View Adapters 4.1 A000 is embedded and use in background to convert SolidWork file to pvz file.

So, I presume that R&D will include this new version of Creo View Adapters in a future release of ThingWorx Studio.

Best regards,

Samuel
