Access Denied error when trying to Publish to PDF onto a shared drive

Version: Windchill 13.0

 

Use Case: We have a customization in place which exports a pdf file onto a network drive when a job is published and promoted to Released state. The publish works fine and generates a pdf file, however when exporting to the shared folder we receive java.io.FileNotFoundException: \\SharedFolder\Drawings\ (Access is denied) Any help greatly appreciated.

Your post appears well documented but has not yet received any response. I am replying to raise awareness. Hopefully, another community member will be able to help.

Also, feel free to add any additional information you think might be relevant. For example:

  • Have you verified that the Windchill server has the necessary permissions to access the shared folder on the network drive?
  • Are the correct user credentials being used to access the shared folder? Is the Windchill service running under a user account that has access to the network drive?
  • Is the path to the shared folder correctly configured in your customization? Are there any typos or incorrect paths?

It sometimes helps to have screenshots to better understand what you are trying to do.
