Stop Windchill and clear tomcat\I*E\Browser cache , then try again.

Your problem can be issued by using more MethodServer instances. 

If you use more then one methodserver, sometimes the change is not synchronized between others method server instances so the change in the type and attribute management is applied to all method servers after a Windchill restart.

This is common situation when server restart is the solution.

Can you try just restart windchilll services or stop the windchill service then clear the caches in server then start the windchill services in shell

or if not updating check the attribute hidden and un hidden check box
