Bulk reassignment of life cycle and team templates

We have a requirement to reassign many thousands of lifecycles and team templates. Would anybody be able to offer any tips/methods to achieve this in bulk, perhaps via the Windchill shell? It would be extremely time consuming/impossible to do it through the UI due to the high number objects involved. We are using WC 9.1 M062


More specific requirements are



1) Select all objects


Of a specific type


(Optionally) Within a specific context


(Optionally) With a specific current lifecycle template



2) And reassign


To a different template (by name)


In the case of lifecycles, specifically setting the state

I've done some search in the community, but haven't found a solution for your request.

After more than three years, have you got any solution for bulk reassignment of LC templates that you could share?

have not looked at this for while but it is most definitely still on the to do list. Last I looked there is a utility provided by PTC which is documented but it has limitations regarding reassigning but maintaining current state.
