Bypass Jasper Report UI and Download PDF Report

Is it possible to bypass the Jasper report UI and simply download the report to PDF?

Currently, there are a few options for report format that are presented when we execute the report action.

We would like PDF output by default and the report to be downloaded following the execution of the action. 

Is this possible?
