create publisher additional content

Hi, I've been looking into using packages to share our data externally with vendors and clients. I see in cs81396 a method for doing so. 

I eventually worked out how to use xconfmanager to add the publishing engine

I have added the additional_file_type_publishrules into the site\utilities\visualisation configuration administration, but it just doesn't seem to work.

Any help on this would be great.

The sample xml files are not easy for me to follow.

I'd really like to get the system to publish step files if an part or assembly is in the lifecycle states of prototype, preproduction or production and also to produce 2d pdf's for the same states for drawings.
