Question

ESI History must be loaded for different views of the part?

Hello,

 

I have two different views of BOM available for a part and the BOM is also available in my downstream system. I want to load the ESI History for the BOM so that the next publish will be a Change action instead of Add action. I want to know if I should load the history for only one of the view or for both of them.

Since Design View can be mapped to one section or your ERP system and Manufacturing view can be mapped to another, I would think you need to load both. I can't hurt since the ESIReleaseActivity load supports versions:

ESIReleaseActivity,com.ptc.windchill.esi.BOMHeader,13835G02,C.-,1,Manufacturing,S4HANA-PROD,2021-08-07,create
ESIReleaseActivity,com.ptc.windchill.esi.BOMHeader,14001G02,C.-,7,Manufacturing,S4HANA-PROD,2021-08-07,create
