Hi guys,

Need free access of users windchill system outside the network of my company, what would be the best practice for this type of access so as not to compromise system security?

Thank you for your help,

VPN access to your Windchill server through a firewall.

ProjectLink and share the Windchill data with them in a read-only mode.

Agree w/Ben... Two major approaches (I've done both and arranged both for clients)

- Give these external users individual access only to one or more Projects.  Put the burden on users to manage what data is shared to / checked out to Projects.

- Create an org-level Group for these folks and a Role in each Product/Library where they need access.  Strictly plan the ACL's for this Role at Org level, to be applied to the Role in each context.

Have to create accounts for the users regardless.   If you're using Active Directory for internal users, and the external users don't have network accounts, then have to arrange how Windchill uses the password assigned within Participant Admin or create another approach..

Dear Mike,

Can you share some more details about how did you achieve this. We also have some requirements in this direction.

Thanks
