Filter End item (and related parts) from Promotion request collection

When doing a promotion request of a End item WT part in Windchill, is there a way to filter the other end items that are in the same BOM (along with their related components) from the collection?

As an example, I have the two following assemblies:

END ITEM 1, which contains:

     PART 1

     END ITEM 2

END ITEM 2, which contains:

     PART2

Is it possible to create a promotion request for END ITEM 1 which doesn't automatically collect END ITEM 2 and its components (in this case, PART 2)

Select ' END ITEM 1' in table

Select 'Collect Objects' from table options

Change dependency to 'None'

You can automatically collect all parts below in structure or no related parts by structure.

If you want anything in between you have to explicitly add parts to promotion, or over collect and remove parts from table.

If parts below below in structure are already at the promotion target state it does no harm to leave them in the promotion. They will be in the promotion baseline, but just to come along for the ride.

Within promotions > collector section of preferences you can edit the default collection rule for promotion to best suit your need.
