How can I create component-id's?

Version: Windchill 12.0

 

Use Case: I want to import a part structure. I have done 'export importable' to get a sample for the format.


Description:

In the BOM sheet it shows a component-id for each child part. They look like this: a0726e2b-01a9-45b-8fe-cef2b59cc598

How can I create component-id's in preparation for import? The parts do not exist yet.

 

For pre-existing parts I see that the PartUsage table contains component-id's.

Just leave it blank. Many fields are optional. This for example is my BOM import. Parts also need to be created first and you can do that on prior sheet or load.

    Hi @rleir 

    @avillanueva  is right The Component ID is not required for crating BOM. It is important just for update existing BOM if you want to change usage quantity. And so on.
