Question

How to display "Actions" dropdown at start of toolbar ?

Hi All,

This question is regarding a UI enhancement.

Since the "Actions" drop down is hidden within the ">>" button (see image Before.png) on Search table toolbar, I thought of displaying it at start of the toolbar (see image After.png), so that it is always available for user. Usually this issue is due to area occupied by the action descriptions out there. However, my users wants to have descriptions in place.

If anyone has a clue on its possibility and how to achieve it, please let me know.

Thanks,

Abdul Rahim

Abdul Rahim Khan‌,

Your issue is only due the fact that the screen is too small to show all of the buttons.  If you wish, you can hide the text under each button by using the preference "Toolbar Action Descriptions".

Go to Quick Links > My Settings > Preferences.  And find in table for the "Toolbar Action Descriptions" preference.  Set it to No, and then the buttons will be much smaller and therefore all will fit.

On the other hand, you may wish to submit a Product Idea to move the placement of the Actions drop-down menu from the far right to the far left of the toolbar.  That would be a good simple idea.  Note:  I think you can do a simple custom-actions.xml or custom-actionModels.xml customization to accomplish it also.  Shirishkumar Morkhade probably knows what I'm talking about, and could provide the customization details.
