Question

How to share harness parameter from cabling to Windchill as a parameter

Version: Windchill 13.0

Use Case: A Manufacture builds own custom harness and cables, The cables have always different length and number of pins. We are trying to avoid a drawing usage and switch to model based information. The harness information is really a challenge

Description:

Hello

I would like to store information from the Cabling in a Windchill
This information is available only in harness model or drawing if I generate a table with cabling information.
Is it possible to share this information into Windchill ? Similar as a parameters if you set designated to yes

The information should be used for a following processes for a manufacturing planning.
I'm looking for someone who try to solve similar case who could get a hint how to solve it or if it is possible.

Hi @Catalina

It seams that no one has an experience with this requirement.

I proposed a proof of concept this way:

1. Read the information in Creo by a Toolkit API

2. Save the information in Creo by a Toolkit API as a attachment file/cad parameter/external database

3. Process the information in a Windchill by customization function to create a WTPart structure based on cabling information on the harness part.

I know it is doable now.
