how to unincoporate or retire a part instance from service

hi

we i tried to keep a record about a specific product in the service using part configuration and instance, though ptc said that it can be unincorporated or retired it from service, i do not know how.

anyone tried to use the part configuration and instance in windchill?

Suggest using a lifecycle to indicate "retired" or de-commisioned, just like Obsoleting a Part.  My assumption is you are referring to the top level End Item and not trying to unincorporate a lower level component.
