Question

I want to download the rehnost utility to perform a rehost in Windchill 11.0 M030.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030

I am trying to rehost Windchill 11.0 M030 version, and I am trying to download the utility file for the corresponding version by referring to the rehost utility guide. However, PTC support says that it is available from version 11.1 and that I should inquire about previous versions through case.

Prior to 11.1, all rehosts were manual.  Even after 11.1, most rehosts before 12.x were manual as the rehost utility was hit or miss.

Assuming this is for upgrade, I would define a local alias (hack the hosts file) of the target system so it thinks it is the source system.

    ###.###.###.###   source.domain.com

Then manually update the pointer to the cloned database using the actual computer name to get it running.

The alternative is to manually rehost: LDAP, Database, Apache, Windchill, and file vaults.

If it is for an upgrade, avoid the rehost and use a new set of servers. With the usage of virtual servers, I have had IT build me a new set of Windchill and Oracle servers. Load the new version OOTB and then use that to import the old version files into. You have to dump the OOTB Oracle schema and rebuild an empty one and then use datapump to import the old database into the new one. Coming from 11.1 directly to 13 may not be supported, I did not check. If you had change objects in the old system you must go through to 12.1 to get configurable links converted.
