Import an excel file and identify the parts or documents related to part numbers in excel file

Hi all,

My client has given 2500+ part numbers in an excel file, asked to trace all the attributes and finally told to change the state of all 2500+ parts in a short interval.

I am almost new to Windchill.  So, any possible solutions are accepted.
