In Windchill 10.2 M030, apart from removing unreferenced file what are all different activities for managing the Vault size

Purge older versions/iterations or archive older versions are the only alternative to reducing vault size.

We have the vaults set to roll over to a new folder when each folder gets to 50K files. The threshold limit is a Windchill setting and is +/- 10% on the setting as to when it rolls over. The older folder is set to read-only so only the latest folder is RW. We are currently writing to folder 46 and I have setup/enabled 55, so I am good for a year or so. The 50K file limit is a practical one from a Windows OS stand point. MS does not recommend more than that in a folder due to limitations in the folder indexing.
