Is it ok change a part state from "in work" to "obsolete" which is "in work" in another context

I have a whole assembly that is not obsolete.But some of the parts inside it are in obsolete state. I have the permission to change change it to "in work" state.But there are some parts in another context in the same name which is "in work" state. So is it ok to change the state to "in work" that is in my context?
